What do you need?
The lessons are suitable for almost anybody. All you need is a computer to work through the lessons and a piano. If you dont have a piano, I would suggest starting off with an electric keyboard as these tend to be much cheaper, take up less space and you can attach headphones which will allow you to practise any time of the day or night.
Most of this course focuses on developing the skills required to play the piano, the knowledge to read and write music along with helping you to understand the theory theory side of things.
I would suggest that you purchase a book or download a few pieces of beginners sheet music relating to the styles of music that you would like to play along side this course as it will help to maintain your interest in learning to play the piano or electic keyboard and will help you to set and achieve goals to play your favorite song as your skills develop.
Why Learn Piano?
Apart from increasing your confidence, co-ordination, posture and discipline, learning to play the piano can also be a lot of fun when you come to composing your own music and may also allow you to earn a financial income when performing or teaching others.
This set of free lessons allows you alot of freedom in terms of when to watch the video lessons and when to practise. It's a good idea to give some thought to when you might have some regular time to practise. We suggest to try to find atleast 15 minutes to half an hour at regular times throughout the week or more if you can. There is no substitute for practise. It's in your hands!
